The Philippines.- Cebu City has imposed a ban on all billboards, digital and online advertisements that promote gambling. The ordinance covers physical billboards, posters, LED screen displays, online and digital advertisements, sponsored events and all other marketing activities by gambling operators.
The ban will be enforced by police, the city Legal Office, the Business Process and Licensing Office, and other departments. It was adopted by the Cebu City Council in a session held on December 17. Officials said the ban was necessary due to the proliferation of gambling ads which normalise the activity.
Pasig City enacted a similar ban earlier this month.
