The all-suite property will launch in the second half of 2026, replacing the former Countdown Hotel
Macau.- Melco Resorts & Entertainment has announced the name for its rebrand of the Countdown Hotel, which has been undergoing renovation at City of Dreams Macau. Now named REM, the revamped venue will offer all-suite accommodation and what’s described as avant-garde design, opening in the second half of 2026
The company said the project will offer a distinctive hospitality experience with spacious luxury suites, personalised service and immersive design. The redevelopment will significantly reduce the room count while increasing suite size, with approximately 150 high-end suites averaging more than 1,000 square feet.
“Redefining contemporary luxury through its ultimate suite experience, avant-garde artistic design and innovative service, REM marks the start of an unprecedented journey of inspiration, further strengthening City of Dreams’ unique position as an integrated resort,” Melco said.
Earlier this month, Melco Resorts & Entertainment named Chinese actor and singer Jing Boran as global brand ambassador for its flagship integrated resort, City of Dreams Macau. He’ll appear in a marketing campaign titled “Be A Dreamer.”
