Australia.- The NSW Hospitality and Racing Regulatory Roadshow will make its next stop in Griffith on June 2. Now in its fourth year, the state-wide engagement programme is aimed at strengthening ties with stakeholders in the liquor and gaming sectors.
The free event at Quest Apartments Griffith follows the roadshow’s launch in Moree. It’s open to stakeholders from the Griffith, Leeton, Narrandera, Carrathool, Murrumbidgee and Bland local government areas.
Hospitality and Racing deputy secretary Tarek Barakat said: the event “will provide an opportunity to those attending to hear directly from our senior leaders, ask questions, stay up to date with regulatory priorities and connect with peers from across the sector.”
He added: “It is also invaluable for us to hear about their successes and challenges, as well as listen to any suggestions for future changes and initiatives.”
Topics at the Griffith event will include upcoming policy reforms, licensing information, local gambling and hospitality trends, harm minimisation strategies, and updates on regulatory operations, training and support. Attendees will be able to engage directly with representatives from Liquor & Gaming NSW’s Hospitality Concierge, Licensing and Liquor Accords teams, as well as staff from the Office of Responsible Gambling and GambleAware service providers.
Senior leaders from Hospitality and Racing will participate in a community engagement programme involving meetings with Aboriginal representatives, local councils, police and liquor accords to discuss issues related to alcohol and gambling within the region. Following Griffith, the Hospitality and Racing Regulatory Roadshow is scheduled to visit Canterbury-Bankstown, Deniliquin and Queanbeyan later in 2026.
