Analysts say concerts at integrated resorts helped boost early March gaming revenue in Macau.

Macau.- Analysts at Citigroup reported that Macau’s gross gaming revenue (GGR) saw a solid start in early March. They said large concerts at integrated resorts, including K-pop boy band TREASURE at The Venetian Arena and Chinese singer-songwriter Wang Sulong and Korean girl group aespa at Galaxy Arena helped support demand.

According to the research note, Macau generated around MOP5.65bn (US$702m) in GGR during the first eight days of March. That equates to a daily run-rate of around MOP706m (US$87.7m). Although slightly lower than February’s average of around MOP737m (US$91.6m), it was significantly higher than the comparable period in March 2025, when daily GGR averaged MOP634m (US$78.8m).

Based on this performance, Citigroup maintained its forecast that Macau’s GGR for March could reach about MOP22.5bn (US$2.8bn), representing a year-on-year increase of 14 per cent.

Industry checks suggested that VIP volumes declined between 2 per cent and 4 per cent month-on-month, while mass-market GGR fell by roughly 3 per cent to 5 per cent over the same period.
