India.- Delhi Police have arresting 29 individuals allegedly linked to betting activities in an operation in the Outer District of New Delhi. They have filed 18 cases under the Gambling Act.
Police also arrested 29 people in connection with the illegal liquor trade and seized more than 2,400 units of illicit alcohol in cases filed under the Delhi Excise Act.
Officials said that investigations are ongoing to determine whether those detained in gambling-related cases are connected to larger inter-district or inter-state networks. Law enforcement agencies are also working to identify repeat offenders and map the structure of local gambling rings. The Delhi Police indicated that similar operations will continue in the coming weeks.
