DFNN posts higher Q1 loss after e-wallet delinking

The Philippines.- The gaming and technology company DFNN Inc has reported a net loss of PHP155.0m (US$2.51m) for the first quarter of 2026, widening from PHP99.8m (US$1.62m) a year earlier. Weaker gaming-related income and higher non-operating costs weighed on performance.

Revenue for the three months ended March 31, 2026, fell to PHP55.3m (US$902.9k) from PHP109.4m (US$1.77m) in the prior-year quarter. The company attributed the decline mainly to lower commission income from its licensed gaming operations following the delinking of its online gaming platform from e-wallet providers.

Expenses for the quarter were PHP211.1m (US$3.42m), up from PHP209.8m a year earlier. Non-operating expenses rose to PHP60.7m (US$987.7k) from PHP43.9m (US$713.8k).

The loss attributable to parent equity holders increased from PHP93.1m to PHP150.9m (US$2.45m). Total assets stood at PHP1.67bn (US$27.12m), up slightly, while liabilities rose from PHP2.58bn to PHP2.74bn (US$44.51m)

Looking ahead, DFNN said it is continuing efforts to expand and strengthen its InPlay.ph platform, while broadening content offerings and payment integrations. It also plans to improve its land-based gaming network and InstaWin terminals as part of its strategy to diversify revenue streams and support more stable performance in the coming quarters.

For full-year 2025, the group posted a net loss of PHP411.0m (US$6.68m), up 36.3 per cent year-on-year, despite revenue rising to PHP63.6m (US$1.03m), driven by higher contract values with third parties.
