The International Tennis Integrity Agency has sanctioned eight individuals for integrity breaches.
China.- The International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA) has suspended Chinese tennis player Lu Pengyu for six years and fined him US$25,000. The sanction is connected to 11 violations linked to the fixing of three matches in 2024 and 2025, as well as refusing to cooperate with the ITIA investigation by destroying evidence.
The 24-year-old player, who reached a career-high ATP singles ranking of 896 in June 2025, initially challenged the charges before ceasing engagement with the disciplinary process. The case was ultimately decided by independent Anti-Corruption Hearing Officer Philippe Cavalieros following written submissions.
The suspension, which includes credit for time already served under provisional suspension, will remain in effect until August 18, 2031. During that period, Lu will be prohibited from playing in, coaching at or attending any events sanctioned by the ATP, WTA, ITF, Grand Slams or national tennis associations.
The ITIA has also announced sanctions against players and officials from other countries. Dominican player Jasel Beltre received the heaviest punishment, a 20-year suspension and US$55,000 fine, after being found guilty of 20 anti-corruption violations connected to 11 matches between 2022 and 2024.
Dominican players Jossting Cruz, Ángel Maleno Rosario and Jesus Maleno Rosario also received sanctions ranging from three months to three years for match-fixing offences and failures to report corrupt approaches.
In separate cases resolved directly with the ITIA, Slovak coach and former player Igor Zelenay accepted a nine-month suspension for attempting to purchase a wildcard for a player he coached, while Irish player Dorian Kos received a two-month suspension for betting on tennis matches.
The agency also confirmed that Croatian player Lauro Milanovic had his suspension reduced on appeal from eight years to six years and six months after one betting-related charge was dismissed, although a failure-to-cooperate offence was upheld.
