Macau.- From January 2025 to October 2025, the Macau gaming industry contributed MOP77.47bn (US$9.68bn) in tax revenue – a 6.1 per cent increase from the same period last year. In the 10-month period, gaming taxes made up 83.7 per cent of total government revenue, according to data released by the Financial Services Bureau.
Gaming tax collection for October 2025 reached MOP7.06bn (US$882.3m), based on September’s GGR of MOP18.29bn (US$2.2bn), which was up 6 per cent compared to the year prior. With October GGR reaching MOP24.09bn (US$3bn), the highest monthly total since 2019, tax revenue for November is expected to also be strong.
Macau imposes an effective tax rate of 40 per cent on casino GGR as stipulated in the current 10-year gaming concessions which began on January 1, 2023. Monthly figures are not directly comparable, due to the delay between operators’ recording of GGR and the government’s receipt of tax payments.
