The government collected US$4.34bn from casino operations in the first four months of 2026.
Macau.- The Financial Services Bureau has reported that Macau collected MOP34.87bn (US$4.34bn) in casino taxes in the first four months of the year. The figure was up 16.9 per cent year-on-year and accounted for 37.7 per cent of the full-year budget target.
Gaming taxes accounted for nearly 86.5 per cent of government revenue recorded in the four months to April 30. In April alone, gaming tax revenue reached MOP9.07bn (US$1.12bn), up 2.3 per cent from March.
Under the 10-year concessions that came into effect on January 1, 2023, casinos pay 40 per cent on GGR. The Macau government’s 2026 fiscal budget plan estimates that income from taxes on the gaming sector will reach MOP92.53bn (US$11.52bn).
The Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau (DICJ) reported that, cumulatively, Macau’s GGR for the four months of 2026 was MOP85.78bn (US$10.63bn), up 12.1 per cent year-on-year but 14 per cent below pre-pandemic levels (US$12.4bn).
