Marina Bay Sands and Las Vegas Sands commit US$1.5m to hospitality talent programme in Singapore

The programme aims to support more than 160 students through 2029.

Singapore.- Marina Bay Sands and parent company Las Vegas Sands have announced a commitment of more than S$2m (US$1.5m) to help train future hospitality professionals in Singapore through the second edition of the Sands Hospitality Scholarship. The announcement was made during the Sands Future Talent ceremony in the presence of Senior Minister of State Low Yen Ling from the Ministry of Trade and Industry and the Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth.

Building on the inaugural US$1m programme launched in 2022, the expanded initiative will support more than 160 Singaporean students pursuing hospitality or tourism studies across seven Institutes of Higher Learning. The programme will run from 2026 to 2029 and includes guaranteed internships or full-time employment opportunities at Marina Bay Sands upon graduation.

The initiative will also be complemented by the companies’ participation in the Singapore Industry Scholarship (SgIS), led by the Ministry of Education and facilitated by the Singapore Tourism Board.

Marina Bay Sands said: “By co-creating value with educators and industry partners, we are making a sustained commitment to strengthening Singapore’s hospitality talent pipeline and supporting the country’s vision of a skills-first society,” the company stated.

Marina Bay Sands also announced a partnership with TomoWork’s Talent Uplift Programme, backed by a S$75,000 (US$55,500) donation. The initiative aims to broaden access to inclusive education by supporting undergraduates with disabilities or tailored assistance needs, creating new pathways into hospitality careers and fostering workforce diversity.
