The Philippines.- Megaworld Corporation has announced plans to open six new hotels across the Philippines by 2029, adding close to 2,000 room keys. The expansion will bring Megaworld’s hotel inventory to more than 20 properties and approximately 9,000 rooms, positioning it as the largest hotel operator in the Philippines.
The new developments will be located in Metro Manila, Pampanga, Laguna, Palawan and Bacolod. Planned projects include the ArcoVia Hotel in Pasig City, Savoy Capital Town in Pampanga, The Hamptons Hotel in Laguna. There will also be two beachfront properties in Palawan: Savoy Hotel Palawan and Paragua Sands Hotel, and The Kingsford in Bacolod City.
According to Megaworld, the Palawan developments will play a central role in the company’s strategy. The two hotels, located within the 462-hectare Paragua Coastown township in San Vicente, are expected to have more than 600 rooms combined.
“Our goal is to have more than 20 hotels and about 9,000 hotel rooms when we reach our 40th year within the next three years,” said Lourdes Gutierrez-Alfonso, president and CEO of Megaworld. “This will further help us unlock big opportunities and continue supporting tourism as a major catalyst of development and economic growth across the country.”
Megaworld is part of the Alliance Global Group, which also has interests in the gaming sector through Travelers International Hotel Group Inc., developer of Newport World Resorts in Manila.
