Macau.- Sands China has announced that it has retained its Top Employer certification from the Top Employer Institute. It’s the second consecutive year the company has received the international accreditation. Last year, it become the first company in Asia Pacific to do so.
The certification process assesses companies across more than 200 HR-related criteria, including leadership, talent acquisition, workplace environment, and rewards and recognition. Sands China reported scoring above the global benchmark in this year’s evaluation.
Among the initiatives highlighted was the creation of dedicated positions for people with disabilities, which was featured as a best practice in the Institute’s white paper, reflecting the company’s broader diversity and inclusion efforts.
As Macau’s largest private employer, Sands China has nearly 28,000 team members. Its HR strategy is built around attracting, developing and retaining talent, with more than 1,400 job categories created across MICE, hospitality, entertainment, retail and sports events.
In 2025, the company expanded its training portfolio with new leadership and AI upskilling programmes, while also introducing additional family-friendly measures, including paid Child Care Leave and flexible shift arrangements for new parents.
By the end of last year, nearly half of its workforce, more than 14,000 employees, had served the company for at least 10 years, underscoring what it describes as a stable and supportive workplace culture.
