Singapore.- International visitor arrivals to Singapore were down 5.1 per cent year-on-year in April to 1.33 million. It was the lowest monthly figure so far this year, and down from 1.43 million arrivals in March.
According to data from the Singapore Tourism Board, overnight visitors decreased 7.9 per cent to 933,840, and the average length of stay decreased by 2.1 per cent to 3.36 days.
Arrivals from mainland China, traditionally the city-state’s largest inbound tourism market, grew 5 per cent year-on-year to 217,870. The other top-five markets for inbound tourists were Indonesia (164,200), Australia (115,340), India (107,160), and Malaysia (99,300). Out of those markets, only mainland China saw year-on-year growth.
March’s total takes the city-state’s aggregate international visitor volume for the first four months of this year to 5.76 million, a 0.9 per cent year-on-year increase. STB forecasts 17 to 18 million international visitors in 2026, with tourism receipts projected to reach S$31bn (US$24.4bn) to S$32.5bn (US$25.6bn).
