Canada.- August 16, 2022 www.zonadeazar.com The company asked its affiliates to wait until it gains licensing approval before resuming activity within the province.
Caesars Entertainment’s William Hill has sent an email to its affiliates, instructing them to wait until the company has obtained the proper licensing from the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO).
Once licensing is obtained, affiliates will be able to send traffic from the Canadian province. According to a company statement, William Hill is not accepting any new Ontario registrations.
The company said in the statement: “Following a period of review, we’ve made the strategic decision to stop operations in Ontario until we have obtained a license with the AGCO. Kindly note that as of today, we are no longer accepting new registrations from Ontario. Although there is not a date for completion, we expect to re-enter in the market in the coming months.
“We are currently promoting our products in the rest of Canada (excluding Ontario), so we kindly ask you to not send traffic to Ontario as of yet.”
William Hill said it will provide its affiliates an update as soon as new information is available.
Caesars Entertainment recently concluded its transaction for a previously announced sale of William Hill’s non-US assets to 888 Holdings. The company closed the deal with net proceeds of $730m after paying off debts and other working capital adjustments.
The company also recently signed a wide-ranging content deal with former NFL quarterback Peyton Manning’s Omaha Productions. The multi-year agreement will include new video, audio and podcast platforms, all produced by Omaha Productions.
A new division called Omaha Audio Network will also come from the signed agreement.
Manning and the team at Omaha will work to develop new social and digital content for Caesars, starting with a new series called “Mayne on the Street,” hosted by ESPN’s Kenny Mayne.
