China.- MGM Resorts International CEO and President Bill Hornbuckle says he met with China’s vice premier He Lifeng in Beijing during a trip to Macau that he described as “especially meaningful”. He also met with Xu Qifang, Deputy Director of the Hong Kong and Macau Affairs Office of the State Council.
Talks reportedly focused on strengthening bilateral tourism and supporting long-term development in the region.
“We discussed the continued importance of supporting bilateral tourism, including expanding travel beyond major cities and leveraging major cultural, entertainment, and sporting events to drive engagement,” Hornbuckle wrote in a LinkedIn post.
Hornbuckle said the meeting also provided an opportunity to present MGM Resorts’ long-term vision for Macau and mainland China.
“Joined by our partner Ms. Pansy Ho and colleagues, we shared MGM Resorts International’s long-term vision for Macau and mainland China, reaffirming our commitment to delivering high-quality experiences grounded in local culture,” he added. “It was a fitting and meaningful conclusion to an important visit.”
