Vietnam’s first licensed casino will form part of a new tourism and MICE development.
Vietnam.- The first regulated casino in Vietnam, Do Son Casino in Hai Phong, has sat unused since its closure during the Covid-19 pandemic. However, work will begin to incorporate it as part of the Hai Phong International Convention, Trade and Tourism Centre project, a VND2.1tn (US$85m) development combining gaming, hospitality and events infrastructure.
Planned across nearly 25 hectares in Do Son ward, the project integrates new construction with the refurbishment of existing assets. It will include a casino with approximately 600 electronic gaming machines.
The integrated complex will also feature a nine-storey, five-star hotel with around 180 rooms and a conference centre capable of hosting up to 1,000 delegates. Supporting amenities include a commercial and service centre connected directly to the hotel.
An architectural concept inspired by a “gold bar” will have open-plan structures aimed at maximising sea views.
The project has cleared key planning and architectural requirements. Construction is expected to move forward once the investor, Hai Phong International Tourism Joint Venture Company Limited, completes the final conditions.
